Baking lesson with Nana

Last weekend I went back to my kampung in Perak (when I say kampung I mean the house where my opah lives) and my cousin, Nana who has just started her baking business, was also there. To be honest, her business is expanding like crazy and she even had a business catalog (it's not uncommon, just that I'm impressed. She's waay ahead of me!). While in kampung she asked me to teach her baking red velvet cupcakes as hers were not up to the expectation, as well as how to make smooth and creamy buttercream. So, 2 young ladies worked their mixer and oven off in the kitchen and here are the results :)

So dear cousin, hopefully your business keeps on expanding and don't forget to share with your one- minute sifu here if you have any scrumptious recipes in future :P

Order from Nabel: Roadtrip munchies

This one dear friend of mine whom is also my orang kampung, Cik Nabel ordered oreo cheese tarts and choc moist cupcakes with buttercream topping for her roadtrip to the north. Requesting sweet design for her cupcakes I tried this colour combo that I always wanted to try before, blue (which doesn't look so blue in the picture), red and yellow.

Hope you like them all and have a safe roadtrip babe!

Red alert: Red Velvet is here!

Salam and hello dear customers.

As promised, Little Miss Cook has added a new cupcake to her line of products, and it is none other than Red Velvet! Yes you get it right, it is the red *obviously* cupcake with the taste of chocolate. According to Wikipedia, the reaction of acidic vinegar and buttermilk tends to better reveal the red anthocyanin in the cocoa hence making the cake red (sorry cannot help it, since I'm a science graduate). So basically it is a red- coloured choc cupcake. I baked it once to try out the recipe long kept in my folder and it turned out great and became an instant hit with families and friends. So far I've 2 orders coming in for it. Alhamdulillah :)

Since there are more ingredients involve in making them, the price will be slightly higher that other cupcakes.

Price:
Buttercream/Chocolate ganache/Cream cheese topping
- RM 2.80 each (minimum 16)

Fondant decoration
- from RM 3.30 each (minimum 16)

*The size of the cupcake is M (Medium) - 5.5cm diameter on top

Below are the pictures of my recent Red Velvet order from my beloved sister/greatest supporter for her overnight stay at the office. Excuse the lack of quality of the pictures, I only remembered to snap them upon delivery *sigh*

Red Velvet topped with buttercream, grated choc and M&M's/ hearts.

Looking forward to hearing from you guys soon. Have a nice day ahead!

New Year, New Recipes!

Salam and Helloooooo Everyone!

Yes, you guess it right, Little Miss Cook is back to the kitchen! *jumping and clapping happily* And the better news is, Little Miss Cook is back with improved, tastier recipes for your own sweet indulgence! *jumping higher and clapping harder*

Before that, I do apologize for Little Miss Cook had been MIA for quite some time. It is because the cook herself had been on a traveling stint and explored her adventurous side, which had been awesome possum! Here's a glimpse of what I had done during the travel :)

Can you feel the adrenaline rush? Scary but satisfying.
However, because of the love to cooking and baking, I certainly didn't miss baking while in the Land of  Long White Cloud. I baked choc moist cupcakes topped with buttercream and freshly picked raspberries. Love love love this new recipe of buttercream as it doesn't leave that fatty and greasy aftertaste like many  other buttercream, in fact I received lots of comments that this buttercream is yummier and taste a bit like ice- cream when chilled! Definitely my choice of buttercream for upcoming orders :D

Thank you to Majied and Rahman for being my baking companions. I didn't know guys got really excited when it came to baking and decorating! Excuse them for these cupcakes' lack of aesthetic values  :P

Till then, stay tune for more products of Little Miss Cook. Promise you by this weekend one more new product will be released :D

Cheers!

From a bestie to another bestie

My dear bestie ordered choc moist cupcakes and oreo cheese tarts for her special friend's birthday whom is also my bestie. This was the first order I got for cupcakes, and I was soo excited to start decorating them. And because it was my very first cupcakes order (before this I just baked for families), there were some flaws here and there. Being a committed businesswoman I promise to improve to serve you better! That's why I really appreciate your comments and criticisms :)

Happy Birthday Bestie!

Happy 1st Birthday Lutfi!

It's my dearest, very much loved nephew Ahmad Lutfi Iman's 1st birthday! So being a very kind auntie I made choc moist cupcakes with buttercream topping. Very colourful, kanak-kanak riang decorated cupcakes we had today.

By the way, when I said they were for a 1 year old boy, I really meant the atuk and opah and ibu and ayah and pakcik and makciks. After candle blowing (done by big bro and sis) and photo snapping, we put aside the birthday boy and he was left forgotten! Awak duduk diam-diam jangan kacau kitorang makan ok? :P

Happy 1st birthday Lut si Lut. Sayang awak banyak-banyak!
